In December, I wrote about Longmeadow High School, in my quaint, little town in Massachusetts. To recap, the students and faculty put together a campaign to take a stand against bullying!
The goal of the event was to not only create awareness, but to take a pledge against bullying. Over 540 total students and faculty participated by visiting the Stand Together website to take their pledge. The stand together website developed by GLSEN is a beautiful cross-media master piece!
What I found most impressive is that the students and faculty documented the campaign by creating a video. The Longmeadow community was very excited about the campaign, so the video was later presented at a school committee meeting, KUDOS!
Those that know me, would tell you that I'm not a sappy fella, but the video that is now posted on YouTube made me feel emotional! My feeling is not simply because now I'm connected to this event. I could feel the passion for what these students and faculty were trying to accomplish, their enthusiasm, pride, and the teamwork between their fellow students and faculty is prevalent to me.
